Success Metrics / Impact

Equal Access’ cost-effective media and outreach programs have made a positive impact on millions of people in some of the least developed countries of the world. In 2007, Equal Access:

  • Established a broadcast audience reach to over 72 million across Asia and Africa

  • Engaged more than 9,000 local communities
  • Delivered more than 40,000 person-days of training

  • Produced more than 680 hours of original content

For less than 10 cents a year per listener…In rural Nepal, where Internet access is limited or nonexistent, Equal Access’ youth chat radio program, Chatting with My Best Friend, is listened to loyally every week by 6.3 million youth, many of who would otherwise be isolated in their villages.

In measuring our impact on our beneficiaries we focus on whether we have improved people’s knowledge, changed their attitudes to an issue or even influenced them to behave in a different way. Click here to learn more about our Impact Assessment.
