Barrett Browne

With 10 years of experience working and living in West Africa, Barrett Browne is leading EAI's efforts across the region in security and peacebuilding.

Barrett Browne is the Senior Technical Manager overseeing Voices for Peace (V4P), a USAID-funded cutting-edge program focused on countering violent terrorism (CVE) and peacebuilding across five countries in French-speaking West Africa. Barrett works closely with field teams to develop alternative messaging campaigns, which undercut and overwhelm extremist narratives that divide communities and lure vulnerable youth. His also works to strengthen V4P’s monitoring and evaluation systems, and to report out on the program’s impact.

Barrett also manages the implementation of a Swiss government-funded CVE project in Chad, which is designed to amplify V4P’s efforts around the Lake Chad Basin and to expand its tested activities into to the south of the country.

Prior to his work at EAI, Barrett supported programs funded by USAID/West Africa and USAID/Office of Transition Initiatives in Cameroon, Nigeria, Chad, Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger. He also served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Cameroon from 2011-2013.
