Sahel Collaboration and Communication

The Sahel Collaboration and Communication (SCC) project aims to increase the impact of USAID's work in Niger and Burkina by acting as the convener among implementing partners and sharing best practices in support of effective collaboration.

A Project of
Burkina Faso, Niger, Sahel

SCC is implemented by Mercy Corps, in collaboration with Equal Access International and Tulane University, with support from the Center for Democratic Governance in Burkina Faso (CGD). The project fosters collaboration, learning, and adaptation among USAID implementing partners, civil society organizations, national governments, and research institutes.

The project focuses on three main outcomes: Enhanced collaboration for collective impact, improved learning and adaptive management, and increased awareness of USAID’s contributions among key audiences.

SCC uses innovative, user-friendly tools such as workshops, mapping, learning and collaboration working groups, knowledge management platforms, and communication campaigns tools to facilitate the collection and transmission of information and learning. The project uses a Collaboration, Learning, and Adaptation (CLA) approach to enable a variety of implementing partners to understand and prioritize development actions that are based on up-to-date research and results.

SCC’s approach helps to increase knowledge of tools for collaboration, learning, and adaptation among different implementing actors, and identify practices that can improve the livelihoods of vulnerable populations.
