Harini Krishnan

Board Director

A Board member with EAI since May of 2016, Harini Krishnan wears many hats: NGO executive, education advocate, classically trained Indian musician, and a California Delegate for the Democratic party.

Harini Krishnan began her career working with nonprofit humanitarian and public health organizations in 1994. As part of her Masters in International Public Administration at USC, she had the opportunity to work at the UNICEF India Country Office in Delhi and with grassroots organizations that provided non-formal education to working children in the slums.

After returning to the United States, she worked for numerous nonprofits including International Medical Corps in Los Angeles and International Rivers Network in Berkeley. After a brief hiatus following the birth of her two daughters, Ms. Krishnan joined Child Family Health International (CFHI), a global health service learning organization based in San Francisco.

Growing up in India, France, England, and the United States, Ms. Krishnan’s love for international relations led her to obtain a Bachelors in Political Science with a minor in French from UC Irvine.

Ms. Krishnan comes from a family of acclaimed Indian classical musicians and is a well known professional vocalist in the Bay Area. In March 2018, Ms. Krishnan was appointed as Arts Commissioner for the County of San Mateo. She is also an Elected Assembly District Delegate for the California Democratic Party.
